It’s a coat stand made of steel and polyester rope that looks just like a lasso. It’d work great for a cowboy bar. That’s about it. I’m not sure where else it’d go. Ask my wife. The only reason I posted this though was because i’m a cowboy at heart. :)

Banksy is by far my favorite Street Artist. For the longest time, no one knew who he really was. Well…a couple of weeks ago, that all changed. Mail on Sunday broke the story and revealed who Banksy really was. I’ve been meaning to highlight some of his work for awhile now. But first an excerpt from the story. There was also a good piece done on Banksy in Time and also Gawker.
He is perhaps the most famous, or infamous, artist alive. To some a genius, to others a vandal. Always controversial, he inspires admiration and provokes outrage in equal measure.
Since Banksy made his name with his trademark stencil-style ‘guerrilla’ art in public spaces - on walls in London, Brighton, Bristol and even on the West Bank barrier separating Israelis and Palestinians - his works have sold for hundreds of thousands of pounds.
He has dozens of celebrity collectors including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Christina Aguilera.
My favorite.
My second favorite.

Some interesting work at Poladoodles.
The idea formed when I started exercising spontaneous drawing and found that I had a bunch of less than perfect Polaroid shots that I couldn’t let go to waste. Each of these photographs became a tiny canvas for me to doodle, and Poladoodles were born!

My favorite summer blockbuster movie, hands down. I loved, and continue to love this movie not only because of the wonderful singing and dancing, but also because of the gorgeous scenery. I was really inspired by the colors, patterns, and materials found on the set of this movie. Everything you see in this movie is very current for home fashions this summer and fall. Here are some tips for getting the look. Take note of the turquoise/light blue with red. It was everywhere in this film. In this movie, as well as other Greek design, there is hardly any wall art because of the material of the buildings:stucco. They draw a lot of interest for their design through textiles.

Lots of texture and lots of pattern are a key ingredient for this look.

These beautifully embroidered sheets from Pottery Barn have a nice Mediterranean pattern as well as cute, scalloped edges…and they’re on sale. Perfect!

Blue is such an important color for this look because it mimics the color from the ocean. Crate and Barrel’s Marrakech does the job quite well.

Notice the textiles in the back of this picture: again, lots of different patterns with bright colors.

This double-sided bedding from Sundance has two Greek motifs embroidered in the quilt: the Greek sun and then the Anthemion pattern on the reverse. And I hate to mention it AGAIN…but the red and ocean blues.

Krispy Kreme (of all people) has come out with grass flip flops. You can now feel the summer lawn tickle your toes as you sit all day at your job wishing you were outside. It supposedly lasts up to 4 months. I like.

Farytales, Friezes, and so much more. Photographer and Film Maker Eugenio Recuenco does amazing work. His style is a little mystical and fantasy. This photograph above is supposed to resemble a frieze on a Greek temple. And then these bottom pictures tell the classic farytales. He does all sorts of themed work, it is well worth the look.

My wife is the one who usually blogs about kitchen stuff. But hey…I like food. Anyway, here are a few interesting, colorful products that I think looked interesting.

A clever tool for any kitchen, the Index Chopping Board color-codes four different boards according to the food that they should be used with. Made of polypropylene, each board is dishwasher-safe and can be easily stored away in the supplied, non-slip filing folder. An ideal accessory for the incurable neat freak… and a perfect gift for the hopelessly disorganised!

I’ve had these pictures filed away in my computer for sometime…so I can’t remember who designed them or to the pictures. But these rooms are so fun, I just had to share.

When doing black and white it is always good to soften up the look with another accent color. In this room the walls are blue and the chairs are mustard, making it a little less over whelming when you walk in. Notice the big plant on one side of the doors that mirrors the accent table with sharp, angular accents. Plants are a great way to soften any look.

This black and white room has a theme of geometric shapes. Again, the designer added another color to add more interest to this room.

This European room adds interest through a variety of different textures. If you are not doing any accent colors, it is important to add interest through a variety of different textures. This will allow the room to feel more inviting.

With yesterday’s holiday and the fun summer weather, I have really been enjoying the outside. It is important to make your outdoors just as inviting as your indoors. If you have nice curb appeal and a well kept backyard, then you just added another room and living area to your home! This home’s garden is absolutely beautiful. My favorite is the last picture of the garage…they made your typical driveway gorgeous with the roses above the door and the stone design in the pavement.
