Going green is huge in the home building industry.  There are several ways we could “go green.”  Jessica Alba’s home featured in InStyle Magazine has some great tips.

Here Jessica’s designer brought her some old, vintage chandeliers.  Reusing furniture (and/or getting it reupholstered) is a great way to save on resources.

Hardwood flooring is a great alternative. to carpet.  Yeah, I know expensive.  But unless you go with wool carpeting (still really expensive), all other carpeting is unsustainable.

Instead of natural grass they used turf.  I’m still deciding if I like this.  There’s just something about rolling around in grass and the smell of fresh cut grass… Like most economically friendly things, the upkeep is really low.  Can you imagine never cutting the grass?
