Woah! Talk about a talented artist! Karen LaMonte’s work is a bit enchanting with the unbelievable precision of the human body. The drapery of this glass work is absolutely amazing!
I’m sure everyone’s heard about the sad news with Domino Magazine. Yes, they have closed down their doors. Domino is now joining the ranks with other great home magazines like Blueprint, House & Garden, O At Home and Cottage Living. Sad. They were one of my monthly magazines. Domino will greatly be missed. In their honor, I decided to highlight a few beautiful rooms done the Domino team.
Bright, rich colors are all the rave right now…with clothing as well as with interior colors. Carol, these jewel-toned pics are for you. Feeling inspired?
Rustic, raw wood with soft, flowy linens. While you don’t have to live in a Railway Carriage to mimick this look, the pictures can be pretty inspiring. I love the arches in the ceiling, the lines are absolutely beautiful.
Some things to keep in mind when wanting to create this look: anything architecturally raw and industrial is great. To soften up the worn-out edges of the florring and lighting, contrast it with white (or pastel), light linens. And when I say linens, I mean linen. The fabric. Nothing says “light and airy” like good ole’ linen.

I love this room. The fun mix of patterns and bold colors add life to this room. One of my favorite features is the Peace on Earth banner. Also like how this actually looks livable, it’s so easy to imagine the kids playing in there…

It’s no doubt birds are a popular design motif. Sandra Isaksson has some great illustrations and adorable bookbindings.
The fruit you eat. Not the “hot color of 2009″ you use to accessorize with. As previously blogged. My parents live in Mesa, AZ and have 32 citrus trees on thier property. Can you imagine waking up every morning, walking outside, and picking a juicy orange? Luckily they include their far-away kiddos in this pleasure by mailing us a big box of these little bits of heaven. Unfortunatly we just finished our last orange. Sad.
I like art collages. Different frames, and different art styles make up for some great collages. It also helps make a space fell more casual. If you don’t have a fancy art collection like this New Yorker, you can also try framing family pictures, quotes, wallpaper, or even artwork from your kids. Just try to mix up the framing with different frames, different matting, and even simple canvas art.
This was done by the great Jonathan Adler.
Hot color trend for 2009. Yep, fire engine-red and flaming orange. Warm, bright, and inviting. I think a room with bright red and orange walls would be a little too much; however I using this color combo would be great for accents. Like the lamps or table setting.
Well Organized closets are so sexy. Is that wrong?
Mick and I are completly re-organizing our home office. In our hunt for files and boxes, we came accross this amazing sale at the Container Store. I wish they had one here in Utah (good thing oyu can shop online). There’s just something so exciting walking around the store with thoughts of living a well-organized life. Somehow that’s as far as I go: THOUGHTS of being well organized. This is the year!
After yesterday’s snowstorm, I need a picture that makes snow peaceful and beautiful. And a bit magical. Photography by Rune Guneriussen.
I helped with a baby shower this weekend. I wish I would have know about these beforehand. Free, Printable templates from other other Rachael. Thanks for the idea Andrea!
I blogged about this Friday, but some how it got deleted. And in that post I confessed how it’s hard for me to blog about awesome sales in fear of everything being gone before I get there. A few of you have contacted me needing the info, wondering if I deleted it for that reason. No. Although that’s not a bad idea…it just somehow got erased in cyberspace.

I recommend going to the Salt Lake location. They literally have hundreds more to choose from. I’m actually headed down there toady, say “hi” if you see me there!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend. I’m going to follow my adventurous little niece’s example by cuddling up with a good book this weekend. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish my book series. Ta Ta!
I’ve been shopping for fabrics on Thaibaut, and ran across this chair. I love it! Classic chair, with elegance. Redefined Elegance that is.
