Apparently we’ve had a leaky pipe, or water heater, or who-knows-what for months now…leading to a serious case of mold. You know it’s serious when the restoration crews say, “Oh Rachel, this is NOT good.” And no it isn’t. We have since turned off our water and moved in with the in-laws until the problem can be solved. Thank heaven for great family.

On a different, lighter note, I made it a New Year’s resolution to take more pictures of my work. I’ve struggled with this for two reasons: A) a client is almost never completely done with what we planned. Especially in this economy. Together we come up with this great design scheme (keeping in our budget, of course), but have set backs due to the lame economy. ”We’ll get that piece down the road.” is a common phrased used a lot now. Being the perfectionist that I am, I feel like I need the entire room to be completed perfectly before I show it off. However, as a New Year’s goal I’m trying to get over that. And another reason why it’s a little harder to get pictures is that client’s want their homes to be perfectly clean. :) Something I’m trying to get my client’s to get over.
Anyway, over the next couple days I’ll be posting pictures of some of my latest projects. This is a sneak peak. Hope you enjoy.
It’s been a rough day. I need some happy homes to brighten up my day. Enjoy.

Ever browse through the National Geographic Shop? Me neither, until now. They have some pretty unique things.

Maybe now I can join the other neighborhood moms now. I bet Pixi would love to be pushed around.
Great How-To for this adorable puppet theatre found from Make and Takes. Thanks Marie for the idea!

I wonder if I can get by wearing these aprons as skirts?!? Yeah, you’re right, it might be a little airy in the back. But how adorable are these aprons? Beautifully designed with great fabrics, these aprons will be great for any hostess. Too bad the price tag is a little steep… fun for inspiration though.

How adorable are these Easter Dresses? I wish I could sew.

Easy, Fun, and sometimes FREE….E.M. Papers has some great designs. Right in time for Mother’s Day! The talented designers are from Brooklyn and California and have printable designs from bookmarks, “IOUs” to greeting cards and calenders to envelops. Here are some of my favorites:

In hopes that Mick will take me to the tulip festival this weekend…

I have a slight obsession with Penny Tiles. Pick your poison: porcelain (in a variety of colors) or metal. You really can use thse anywhere: flooring, backsplashes, bathroom surrounds…oh the possiblities. We might be using them for a bathroom floor. So excited.

Beautiful slips by Your Slip is Showing. Pretty darn pricey, but they’re fun to look at! My favorite is Tickle Me Pink. And I’m not a pink girl. That says a lot.

Oooh la la! Love the Hamptons dress found at Starlooks Boutique. So cute for a little toddler.

I don’t know what I like more: the rings or their packaging. By converse shoe designer Timothy Liles.

In honor of Earth Day:

Aren’t they gorgeous? Here’s my adorable neice having fun in the feilds. Rumor has it picking these flowers is illeagal. Shhh!
Artist Jim Dtaz has some fabulous new work. One of my favorites, capital idea, can be found here.

However, my favorite piece with the argle motiff is this adorable dress:

JCrew Fall 2007. It’s no longer available…Bummer. Yes, I keep pictures from two years ago. You should see my interiors folder.
Oooh Lala, love this spring apron by red velvet art. Somehow I think this is too cute to get all grody in the kitchen.
