…without the tree. Red and Green is a highly desirable color combination. However, the complimentary color combo often comes with the Christmas stigma. Try adding in color through the accessories, and keeping the large areas (walls and sofas) neutral. Like what I did here:
Enizio Salon is having a fun reception to launch their new kissable couture line. There will be mini makeup classes, light hor de vours, and giveways! Bring your girlfriends for a fun night out, hope to see you there!

I wish I was a clutch girl. Or went to fabulous parties where a clutch would be appropriate. Then I’d get one of these customized clutches.
Today my blog has become quite international. I don’t know if I should appologize or not. Apartment Therapy has some pretty cooky things, but this is pretty amazing. Yep, that’s right; a cantilevered pool on top of a house. Found in Madrid, Spain. If you have more patience than me and care to watch the video, it’s here. Otherwise enjoy these fascinating phots from Archinet.
Thanks to a little twitter friend’s suggestion, I am now obsessed with this charming little boutique hotel. If only I can get Mick to stop watch shallow Celebrity Reality shows and help me plan…
{okay, I might be guilty of watching a few myself: Bachelorette and Real Housewives of NY & NJ}

Alrighty all, your emails and comments were a TON of help for us on deciding between Cinque Terra and Lake Como. I’m still set on trying to fit in both; however, Mick isn’t. We just realized that we will be leaving in three weeks and don’t have any hotel reservations! Yikes! Since ya’ll were so helpful earilier, we’re counting on your advice again: on places to stay.

While we having been saving our little pennies, pricing is a concern. We really care a lot about location: a central place in Florence and Rome would be nice (yes, I know that’ll make the price more). In Cinque Terra, I have no clue. I’ve researched/read a lot about the five cities, but I still find them kind of all the same. A recommendation on WHICH city would be nice. If you haven’t been able to figure out by the pictures, we will be staying in Rome, Florence, and in the Cinque Terra region. Again, thanks for all your emails and comments!

Lovely. I want to go read my book in that little nook.
I’ve had this in my file. If you know where I can give it credit, please let me know.
L’Affiche has great finds. There’s nothing like modern children’s French art.
From their website: “Spanish illustrator Bukubuku presents a cute and colourful art print in French. Here, all is full of life and joy, and it’s absolutely natural that raindrops, tomatoes, slices of quiche and hamsters are all merrily giving us broad smiles!”
Simple, and beautiful dotted vase found over at Baily Doesn’t Bark.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My proud dad in front of his garden…pretty impressive if you ask me.
This picture has been the email joke in my family for quite some time. Brother Benjamin with his blue and yellow short checkered shorts. Sister Elizabeth with her weird smirk. Me (young blonde in front) with my signiture sass pose. My parents raised seven kids (youngest obviously not there…yet. My mother was still schemeing a way to make that happen.) By the way, how in the world does my mom have that tiny of a waist after six kids?!?
I wish I had some old-school Hagen photos. Those are pretty funny too. Both my dad and Mick’s dad are some of the greatest men I know. Hopefully you feel the same about your fathers. Happy Dad’s Day!
It’s been Strawberry Days here in Pleasant Grove, Utah. And as I write this, I’m getting upset at myself for waiting until the end of the week to eat highly sought-after strawberries and cream. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the best. desserts. ever. I might have to get three serving tonight.

Yeah, this is a dress made out of drinking straws…sewn together by dental floss. No big deal. The talented designer was by my good friend Kristin. Way to go Kristin, it’s awesome!
LOVE this Southampton home found in this month’s Elle Magazine. Whoever said “White is out” was wrong.
