I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was a wonderful time spent with family and food. The only thing missing was my mother’s famous homemade dressing (I guess here in Utah they call it stuffing). One day I’ll introduce the Hagens to it. For all my family members reading: have no fear I still was able to contribute my classic drink.
This has nothing to do with anything this year; but it was the first and only time I have ever made a turkey: my sophomore year in college for a church activity.
If you can’t tell, I was very proud of myself…and it was a very long day in the kitchen.
This is our last week in Utah. When I take a second to reflect, I have a mixed emotions towards this place that I’ve lived in for the past seven years. When I came out to school here I never imagined I’d live here so long. And now I’m sad to leave. Luckily we have family that will always keep us coming back!
I’m not a big fan of the bright, puffy sneakers Mick wears. But I’ll admit, these are just too cute. I guess if you make anything miniature it’s cute. These are by Stella McCartney for GAP kids. Isn’t the line adorable?!
Like most of the nation, I have joined the Glee craze. Maybe it’s my love of juvenile high school drama. Maybe it’s my deep understanding for the typical glee club cast out. Or perhaps it’s the excitement of an occasional impromptu, well-choreographed song and dance. Most likely it’s all the aforementioned reasons that have drawn me to the edge of my couch every week waiting for a great number by the Glee cast. I write this post not because of the great numbers, but for your help. You see, I like to measure my pregnancy with the fictional, sixteen year old character Quinn who happens to be pregnant as well.
Again, maybe I feel like I can relate to the “ex-Cheerio” because in my high school career I was on both the dance team (not cheer, but come one, they’re all the same) and school choir. And, well, I probably fit in more with the choir rejects. And while I am fully aware that cute little Quinn isn’t pregnant in real life, and she doesn’t have to worry about hiding early pregnancy weight gain, I still like her *ahem* “young lady” style. At the end scene Quinn wore a really cute, ruffly, lose-fitting tank with a cardigan over it. In my fifteen minute on-line search I haven’t been able to find anything similar to it. If anyone knows what shirt I’m talking about and knows where I can find one, please help. I have one serious fat roll I need help covering.
We’re both thrilled for all the changes going on in our lives. I’ve never been so scared in my life, but having Mick’s love and support has been my source of strength. Here’s to families!!
Three years today. Oh my, how time flies! Some days he just gets me. Others, I feel like I need to hit him on the head with a frying pan so we can see eye to eye. But how fun would it be married to someone who knows what I’m going to say before I say it?!
Is it sad the only time we pull out our camera is when we’re traveling? Nonetheless, Europe was what we had been planning and saving for for years. Aside from traveling, we’ve gotten to do a lot these past three years. Both together and as individuals, and I am so happy with where we both are in our lives. I mean, three years ago I would have never thought I’d be making dance videos and posting them on youtube…
Last week I wrote about the loft style. Another style I’m trying to convince Mick on is the classic, San Fransisco Edwardian. Sometimes while shopping on Craigslist my mouse will *ahem* accidentally click on a property way out of our league, but absolutely gorgeous. Check out this beauty:
As I mentioned earlier, I’m quite busy these days. My nights of looking at inspiring photos and new products have turned into emailing. :) So I thought I’d share just a few furniture pieces we’re brewing up. Red Fox Furnishings did an awesome job putting together these collages of the furniture pieces and their altered dimensions with the chosen fabrics. They rock.
We are going for earth tones in this room: greens, oranges, browns, soft yellows. Ooh it’s going to be so warm and cozy I can’t wait!
