Halloween is coming…
…and your kids need to be super heroes.

Anyone watch the final? First off let me vent at how obnoxious Kenley is. Not only is she disrespectful her seniors, but I don’t think her design style is innovative. Ugh, why would you want to argue with the people who are going to judge you? Not very smart. Whew, there, I’ve said it.
The winner, Leanne, had great designs. She has great architectural lines. But I thought her collection got a little repetitive.
I really liked Karto’s designs. I like how she brought in her own personal history and background. And the beading!!! Gorgeous! I think she should have won.
I was in Salt Lake yesterday and had a three hour break between meetings. So naturally I went to Gateway to have a nice afternoon window shopping and checking out the new trends for fall.
Something I noticed was bright bolds are everywhere. Remember the Crayola color set of bolds? Think that.
I’m glad color is still going to be used. Just because it’s drabby outside doesn’t mean we should dress accordingly.
Head Band (not available at any store at Gateway, but sill incredibly fun)
Next time the weather changes on you in the middle of the day, you’ll be ready.
I’m excited for a new church outfit I got today from anthropologie.
And I’m debating if I should get this necklace
Have you ever been on the search for that perfect dress or top? I have, way too many times. For some reason when I can always imagine exactly what I want, spend hours searching for it, and end up settling for something not-quite what I wanted. Well, ladies, now you can design exactly what you want. From the fabric, to the size, to the style. A new website, Style Shake, enables you to do just that. They claim with three steps: chose fabric, design your garment, and have it ready in 10 business days; you’ll be on your way to a custom garment in less than 2 weeks.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t too impressed when I looked through their gallery; but then realized that these are the creations of other people. People with an 80’s, retro style. So I can’t quite judge. My other concern is picking out fabrics online. Scary!!! Once I get the courage to design my own, I’ll have to let ya’ll know how it goes.
I’m wishing I would have gone to my Senior Prom with this hairdo:
Or any of these…
Pretty interesting. They are actually Hair Hats by Nagi Noda. And I really don’t wish I could have had that for my Prom Do…for those of you who don’t know my humor.
Abaete has some pretty neat retro swimsuits. They are, however, a little pricey. But it’s still worth a look!
I talked earlier about the safari style. Well, I’ve been able to come up with an entire outfit under $75. That could buy you one scarf from my previous post. There a few things to keep in mind when going on a safari: neutrals and khakis, cargo pockets, and if you throw in a few metallics you can’t go wrong.
Tunic: $19.80
Cardigan: $17.99
Gladiator Sandals: $14.99
Bangle Watch: $12.99
Interesting design by Swedish designer Sandra Backlund. She seems to approach fashion more like a sculpture than as a seamstress.
Banana has got it going on with their Safari Line. So fun. So cool. And so summery. I LOVE the giraffe print that they use–it adds a nice touch of sass to any outfit.
Local Utah designer Sarah Natividad of Curious Workmanship has these adorable baby booties. These hand crocheted booties have got to be the most adorable things ever. And they are shipped in pretty little packages when mailed!
It’s warming up outside…you know what that means! Swimsuit Season! As a wife, and one-day mother I am set with a dilemma: how can I look cute and stylish at the pool without letting too much show? I’m not wanting a suit that covers everything from knee to neck to makes me look like some frumpy girl. On the other hand, I’m not one to wear something so revealing that I’m constantly tugging at my suit making sure nothing falls out. Remember when you could never find a cute one-piece? Well ladies, look no further. Thanks to Urban Outfitters the cute one-piece is back.
The reason why I’m loving these suites is because the bottoms don’t cut so high up. For some reason one-pieces always seem to cut at the wrong spot–giving the thighs an unflattering look. With these boy-cute bottoms you don’t have to worry about that.
