If you haven’t been able to tell our yard is consuming a lot of my time and thoughts. In a good way. Yesterday as I was trying to figure out which plants should go where I thought how nice it would be to have a landscape designer come in and just take over. Now I know why people hire me. :) I know what I want, I just don’t know how to execute it. Something well manicured, but still have that over-grown garden feel. Here is a local landscape designer whose work I have fallen in love with. Does this get you excited for spring?!

One word: Danger. I’m the biggest rug snob ever. Ask my clients. Rugs are such a big part of the design of the room; they what your kids roll around on, what your toes feel when you get out of bed. Rugs are the epitome of the design phrase “form and function.” I always have the hardest time finding a rug that suits all the design needs as well as functional needs of a space. I was just informed that Amy Butler has come out with a line of rugs. Wool, hand-tufted, intersting patterns (so it doesn’t show resistance and dirt) are all characteristics I look for in a rug. Heaven help me, I need to know how much these are. Hurry Amy, make these available for designers. Please.

I have a slight obsession with Penny Tiles. Pick your poison: porcelain (in a variety of colors) or metal. You really can use thse anywhere: flooring, backsplashes, bathroom surrounds…oh the possiblities. We might be using them for a bathroom floor. So excited.

I love mosaic tiles. I think they’re beautiful. Expensive. Very Expensive. But beautiful.
